Attention: High Prim Count Ahead!

Finally! Someone has gone above and beyond the normal boundaries of trying to conserve on prim count and let loose with an amazing line of trees using a prim count not for the faint of heart.

Sure, Aintree Gardenshas a remarkable collection of low prim foliage to fit a variety of needs, but what about those times when a landscaper wishes to throw caution to the wind and go all out with highly-detailed, amazing-looking trees?

Does a prim count of 80+ appeal to your narcissitic nature? Yeah, me, too!

That’s why I was more than pleasantly surprised when Honour McMillan dropped her latest creations on me. Imagine the look on my face rezzing an 87-prim Fir, or an 81-prim Oak tree?

Right next to a 58-prim Chestnut or 55-prim Willow tree and all you’re missing is a hammock and good ambient tunes for a blissful afternoon in SL, or anywhere, really.

First thing I noticed is that Honour has now added auto-rezzers for use with this new set of trees – very nice feature!! Watching these trees rez is a thing of beauty in itself. Of course, the next thing you notice has to be the incredible detailed textures, coupled with the subtle and yet oh so realistic movement and you really can’t beat the bargain price of L$800 even if you tried.

I might mention, the trees are copyable, believe it or not, which adds that much more to the value of the price.

While I can find nothing to complain about these latest creations, I am holding on to the hope that the next incarnation provides us with moving shade ground cover to accompany them. Just sayin’. ;)

Have you had a chance to visit any of the Second Life 5th Birthday exhibits? I have. And some are decorated really nicely, so of course I had to see which creator people were using the most when decorating their display parcels with trees, etc.

By my early estimates, and no real surprise, Kriss Lehmann representing Botanical@Straylight was way ahead of the next most popular creator Lilith Heart from Heart Garden Centre. You can find (and easily recognize) the Straylight trees on probably half of the exhibits which landscaped with trees.

Okay, fine. Yes. I did it.

I started a blog to keep track of all my many tree purchases. Or the ones I wish I could afford to purchase, but didn’t.

Although, I probably will end up going back to get them once I see them posted here and they keep taunting me.

I’ve listed some of my favourite creators over on the right side of this page, and if you know of any that I should have listed but haven’t, then please pass me the SLurl or name, etc. so I can drop everything and run over to check them out straight away.

Because you know I will.
